THE DREXEL GREEN INITIATIVE at Drexel University was created in 2008 by students, faculty, and staff dedicated to transforming Drexel's campus into a sustainability leader.
The initiative covers all aspects of operations, buildings, academic initiatives, and student life and is responsible for the strategic plan to further sustainable practices
and policies.

Blend) to operate its fleet of 11 shuttle buses.
• Annually, Drexel recycles approximately 300 tons of waste.
• Seventy-five percent of Drexel's buildings utilize Building
Automation Systems (BAS) to control mechanical equipment,
occupancy and lighting schedules, and temperature control.
• Drexel University has six hybrid vehicles as part of the
university fleet, and is committed to purchasing more hybrids
as vehicles are replaced. more
