Civil Engineering
The graduate program in civil engineering prepares students to address the continuing challenges placed on engineers relating to managing and retrofitting aging infrastructures; adopting new sustainable construction materials in constructed systems; designing, building, and rendering the built environment resilient to climate change; addressing issues such as pollution, water and storm management, and both indoor and outdoor air quality. Students gain the critical thinking, creativity, and technical skills needed to advance careers and engineer change to address societal issues. Master's program areas of specialization include geotechnical, structural, and water resource engineering.
