Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (SSCE 9105)

Drexel University's Yellow Belt Course (SSCE 9105) provides participants with a fundamental understanding of the Operational Excellence approach to process improvement and Lean Six Sigma methodology by focusing on Lean tools.

This 16-hour course will teach prospective Yellow Belts Lean-based terminology, tools and methodology through a hands-on process improvement simulation.

OUTCOME

  • Gain an understanding of the Operational Excellence approach to process improvement, including the ability to apply the fundamentals of Lean, Six Sigma, and the DMAIC (Define/Measure/Analyze/Improve/Control) methodology.
  • Learn and practice Lean tools by applying them while improving a simulated process
  • Develop skills to lead quick hit type projects, and/or the knowledge required to support Black or Green Belt-led Lean Six Sigma projects
The final section of the Yellow Belt Training Course will discuss the reason for getting leadership involved with their teams and will outline the qualities, roles and responsibilities the leaders of change must demonstrate in order to model appropriate Sponsor and Champion behaviors. This final section of the training will discuss an extremely important topic, “Roles and Responsibilities.”
 
The roles and responsibilities include the following:
  • Green Belt roles
  • Black Belt roles
  • Team Leader roles
  • Sponsor or Process Owner roles
  • Executive Champion roles
