Outreach & International Work:
- Presently assisting in educational programming efforts at The Condor Lodge Conservatory in Perú. The Conservatory’s primary focus is on maintaining the integrity of the environment and its research and education programs on the Andean Condor and indigenous population. The major educational plan under development is one that strictly adheres to The International Ecotourism Society’s (TIES) principles; namely, to regulate the scale and intensity of tourism in the area while facilitating low impact, quality interaction between Conservatory staff, local communities, and visitors.
- I am also exploring a potential collaborative project in Sierra Leone; a project that will enable participants to make connections between the theory and practice of Peace Education, while demonstrating, in concrete terms, global and international education in action. The project will build upon a three-week course developed by my colleague and friend, Dr. Thomas Turay, entitled: “Education for Conflict Transformation and Peace Building,” at the UN mandated University for Peace (UPeace) in Costa Rica as part of its Master of Peace Education program.
