Sara Aykit

I am an honors English major with a minor in creative writing. In my spare time, I am on the executive board of the Queer Student Union, a student organization I co-founded; a team lead at Saxbys; and a volunteer for the refugee resettlement team of HIAS Pennsylvania. My dream career is to work as a nonfiction essayist, helping those whose stories are never heard to be told.

With the Gilman Scholarship, I studied abroad in Ireland to participate in the Drexel in Ireland: Cork Writing Workshops. I took classes in creative writing and literature in order to directly influence my understanding of my discipline while exploring the great beauty of Ireland.
