Matthew Parsons has conducted research internships at the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the University of Maryland and is now a computational physics programmer at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. His current research looks at how to apply machine learning methods to monitor the stability of magnetically confined fusion plasmas, with the intention of developing computational tools that can be used for the ITER project in southern France.
