Born in Reading, Pa. Completed BS degree in chemical engineering at The Pennsylvania State University in Fall 2005. Spent 2005-2006 in full-time Christian ministry in Pittsburgh, working on flood relief efforts. Use 2007-2009 to pursue music career (www.erichmace.com). Continue to write and perform in the singer/songwriter genre. Also during 2007-2009, worked part-time as an energy technology analyst for a consulting firm focused on petroleum refining (www.hydrocarbonpublishing.com). During this time, became convinced of the reality of a global energy crisis and strong correlation between energy consumption and climate change. Chose to pursue PhD at Drexel because of the alternative energy focus in the Chemical & Biological Eng. Dept. and because of closeness to family and friends. Also an avid outdoorsmen, a fan of German language and culture, and a health nut. Future plans include career in alternative energy and championing public awareness, starting a family, learning Spanish and French, and starting another band.
