Boris Dyatkin

Boris is the recipient of DOE Office of Science Graduate Student Research Fellowship (SCGSRF), 2014, Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP) College Qualified Leaders (CQL) Leaders Apprenticeship, 2014, and the International Center for Materials Research (ICMR) International Research Fellowship, 2013. His research involves a fundamental study of electrochemical capacitors, also known as supercapacitors. His  fellowships have allowed him to complement his PhD research with several in-depth explorations of carbon nanomaterials for energy storage. The CQL Apprenticeship allowed him to conduct research of dual-intercalation batteries at the Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD. The ICMR Research Fellowship gave him the opportunity to research graphene aerogels in Dalian University of Technology in China. The DOE SCGSRF award allowed him to pursue several neutron scattering and materials characterization studies of carbide-derived carbons, graphene, and ionic liquid electrolytes at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, TN.
