Skills-Based Faculty Mentoring Program

MentoringThank you for your interest in Drexel’s new skills-based faculty mentoring program. We developed this program in response to feedback from faculty that pointed to the need for mentoring on specific faculty-related skills at Drexel. The goal of this program is to enable any faculty member who would like mentoring in a specific skill area to find a faculty member at Drexel who can mentor them in that skill. The program is built on the concept of a “mosaic of mentors,” in which individual faculty members have multiple mentors for various skills, and may have different mentors at different points in their career, to help the mentee achieve competencies in a wide range of areas. This is in sharp contrast to the traditional concept of mentoring in which one senior faculty member mentors a junior faculty member on a wide range of issues for many years.
