Bridge Construction to Close I-76 at Night
I-76 between I-676 and 30th Street
Start Date: September 13, 2026 | 10:00 PM
End Date: September 17, 2026 | 5:00 AM
Sunday, September 13, through Tuesday, September 15, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, westbound I-76 will be closed and detoured between the 30th Street and I-676 interchanges.
Wednesday, September 16, and Thursday, September 17, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, eastbound I-76 will be closed and detoured between the I-676 and 30th Street interchanges.
During the westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) closure, drivers will exit at Walnut Street and follow Schuylkill Avenue to the ramps to I-76 and I-676.
During the eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) closure, drivers will be directed to exit at Arch Street/30th Street, turn left on Chestnut Street, and turn right onto Schuylkill Avenue to access the ramp to I-76 at Walnut Street.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling along the detour route or work areas because backups and delays will occur.
