Student Update: COVID-19 Testing Extended to Monday

November 17, 2020

The following message was sent to Drexel students on Nov. 17:

Dear Drexel Dragon,

Many students continue to seek COVID-19 testing before the Thanksgiving holiday. We want to remind you that a limited number of nasal PCR COVID-19 tests are still available to students who register to be tested on a first-come, first-served basis this week. Due to increased demand, COVID-19 testing will be extended through Monday, Nov. 23. Please note there will be no testing on Wednesday, Nov. 25. Only one test per person will be allowed. Please note that any duplicate registrations will be cancelled in the system. Tests can only be offered at the Race Hall Learning Terrace (3300 Race Street) in University City at this time. Please register for your COVID-19 test through this test registration link. Students who do so will need to fill out all data as required by the Philadelphia Health Department.

While the number of people with COVID-19 infections continues to markedly increase in the region we strongly encourage our Drexel community to practice the proper safety measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure. Additionally, students who feel ill or who are certain they have been exposed to COVID-19 should contact the Student Health Center right away by phone (215.220.4700) or through the Drexel Health Tracker app. If students are unable to schedule their test at Drexel, they can visit additional test sites in our region.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to refine our testing, mitigation, and reopening plans. If you have any questions, please call the COVID Questions Line at 215.703.2335. More information about the University's plans can be found on the Drexel's Response to Coronavirus website.

We appreciate your patience as we work to take care of those in need.

Sincerely,

Janet Cruz, MD
