Freshman Elections – First year students just arrived on campus a few weeks ago, but it’s already time to jump right into the Undergraduate Student Government Association (USGA) freshman elections! External elections will be held this week and internal elections will be next week during week 5. Be sure to cast your vote and help choose the next student leaders on campus. Grand Opening of Avenue C Markets – Drexel Business Solutions received feedback that students wanted more convenient and healthy snack options on campus. Enter Avenue C Markets, the new self-serve markets which will operate during the regular building hours for grab-and-go meals, snacks and hot or cold beverage options.

Emergency Numbers for Center City Campus – Drexel’s Department of Public Safety would like to remind all faculty, professional staff and students on the Center City Campus of the following numbers to call in the event of any emergency or safety/security issue: 215.895.2222 or 911. Save 215.895.2222 (“Drexel Public Safety”) in your mobile phone contacts and delete any old emergency numbers you may have had for the Center City Campus. Please remove and/or ignore any signs or stickers in your work areas advising you to call a different number.
Annual Security Report – In compliance with The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and The College and University Security Act of 1988, Public Safety has released its 2019 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report. A copy of the 2019 annual report is available at drexel.edu/cleryreport [PDF], or you may request a printed copy by calling Public Safety at 215.895.1550. A five-year archive of these reports is available on the Public Safety website.
Construction Update: Enhancing the Student Experience

Bentley Hall – The residence hall formerly known as Calhoun welcomed the first new class of residents since its makeover last month. With the help of a $5 million gift from Trustee Greg S. Bentley, CEO of Bentley Systems, and his wife Caroline, Bentley Hall received repairs to the building envelope and renovations throughout the interior to provide an improved, modern student living experience. Main Building Auditorium – The Main Building Auditorium got a new look this summer, with upgrades including new carpet, tile, stage floor refinishing, lighting, and a fresh coat of paint. Perhaps best of all for the students who study and take exams there, all the seating has been replaced to incorporate tablet arms for all chairs.
Buckley & Vidas Bubbles – Some of Drexel’s most-used outdoor athletics spaces can now be used year-round, thanks to the addition of new infrastructure to support seasonal, air-supported “bubbles” over Buckley Recreational Field and three existing tennis courts at Vidas Athletic Complex. Once inflated, the structures will provide a controlled environment for play during the colder months. First inflation of the Buckley and Vidas Bubbles is expected in late fall 2019.
Nov. 5 is Election Day!
Drexel students are encouraged to register to vote, become educated about local, state and national candidates, and exercise their right to vote in every election. There are many local county and municipal elections behind held on Tuesday, Nov. 5. If you can’t make it to your polling place that day, many states, including Pennsylvania, allow you to request an absentee ballot online.
Respecting Religious Observances
Embodying a culturally and spiritually diverse community, Drexel recognizes that on the occasion of important or solemn religious days, certain of its members will observe practices that preclude them from attending to their regular duties whether as faculty members, professional staff members or students. On the occasion of such days, it is equally important for all who do not share in these same practices to accommodate their colleagues and peers.
