M.S., Systems Engineering

The M.S. in Systems Engineering, offered entirely online, provides students with the skills necessary to be effective systems engineers, leaders, managers, and future executives while expanding their roles and responsibilities in their areas of specialty.

The program is taught by experienced systems engineers from domestic and international government and commercial industries.  A wide range of systems engineering topics and subjects are taught to prepare students for managing and contributing to any systems engineering challenge.  It will enable engineering leaders to manage systems development throughout the life cycle from conceptual development and engineering design through operation and sustainment phases.

Topics of study include:

  • Statistical data analysis and design of experiment

  • Operations research

  • Systems modeling and simulation

  • Systems engineering tools

  • Software systems engineering

  • Identifying and mitigating risk

  • System architecture development

  • Project planning, scheduling and control

  • Logistics systems engineering and supportability analysis

  • Reliability, availability and maintainability

Dual Degree Options

Motivated students can simultaneously pursue two M.S. degrees at Drexel, significantly reducing the total number of credits required. Potential pairings with the M.S. in Systems Engineering include:

  • M.S. Chemical Engineering

  • M.S. Civil Engineering

  • M.S. Construction Management

  • M.S. Electrical Engineering

  • M.S. Project Management

  • M.S. Property Management

  • M.S. Material Science

  • M.S. Mechanical Engineering

Additional dual degree pairings will be considered. Contact the Vince and Judy Vidas Systems Engineering Program for details.
