Message from the Director
Founded in 1959 to develop engineering leaders through strong relationships with industry, Drexel’s Engineering Management Program has seen steady growth and remarkable success. Continuing this original mission, the program focuses on these core offerings: the Master of Science in Engineering Management and the four-course Graduate Certificate in Engineering Management. The curriculum encourages the development and refinement of those technical, business, and leadership skills that engineers and managers need to compete successfully in the global marketplace. Engineers within many industries can turn to Drexel when ready to expand their technical competence and business acumen. Our students develop innovative strategies for applying both technology and leadership skills to solve complex interdisciplinary problems.
Taught by a team of dedicated engineering leaders and entrepreneurs, our courses benefit from their extensive real world experience. The faculty comprises both full-time professors and part-time professionals who have held management positions in companies such as Lockheed Martin, NAVSEA, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, DuPont and Met-Pro Corporation. These men and women have excelled in the careers to which our students aspire, thereby giving the program a current, real-world component.
Another advantage of our program is its online, asynchronous delivery format, which enables students to learn wherever and whenever convenient. Drexel encourages this flexible learning schedule and provides 24/7 technical support. Investment in these resources is continuously increasing, and supporting online education is a key component of Drexel University’s 2012-2017 Strategic Plan. Employers who support their workforce with tuition reimbursement also value the online nature of the program because it ensures a high-quality and consistent learning experience for their employees.
As a graduate of this program, I can attest to the advantages it provided as I transitioned from engineer, to engineering manager, and finally to Vice President of Global Manufacturing at a major pharmaceutical company. If you are interested in learning more about Engineering Management and our recent successes, please review the materials on our website or contact us directly.
I hope you decide to accept the challenge.
