Engineering 103 - Freshman Design III

Objective: Students apply what they've learned, and independently explore new topics, to design and fabricate an original prototype with the help of fellow students and faculty.

Students propose their own project or choose from a selection of existing projects proposed by faculty or fellow students. Each group, of three to five students, is paired with a technical faculty advisor.
 
Nearly 80 freshman design projects are currently underway, including:

• Solar air conditioner
• Design tool for yoga handstands
• A rapid prototyped robotic arm
• Motorized rollerblades
• A faster water filter
• Heated coat
• Wireless electricity – Witricity
• iPad remote control for the visually impaired
