Engineering 102 - Freshman Design II
Objective: Introduce students to sensor operation and algorithm design through a hands-on experiment using a LEGO Mindstorms NXT robot
Groups are given a LEGO NXT robotics kit with:
- 3 motors
- 2 touch sensors
- 1 microphone
- 1 light sensor
- 1 ultrasonic sensor
Robots are built and programmed to compete in a course-wide competition. Using four sensors of the group's choosing, the robot must traverse an arena and depress only blue switches along the perimeter as quickly as possible.
