Summer Prep Classes
If you received information about taking a course over the summer, either CHEM 050, MATH 050 or PHYS 050, that is because we believe that you will benefit from additional preparation for your fall term courses.
As you can see on the curriculum guide, waiting to take these courses in the fall will leave you with two courses to take next summer between your freshman and sophomore years. However, you have the opportunity to take equivalent courses online this summer at no cost to enable you to start on track in your curriculum in the fall term. Click on each course for more details.
PHYS 050 (equivalent to PHYS 100), MATH 050 (equivalent to MATH 110), and CHEM 050 (equivalent to CHEM 111) are self-paced online courses that are worth zero (0) credits. These tuition-free courses can be taken over the summer! Please be aware that this course will show up on your transcript as CR (credit) or NC (no credit), which will not effect your GPA in either case. Also, even though they are tuition free, you may need to purchase books for one of these courses.
The courses are available starting on Monday, August 1st and the last date to sign up will be Monday, July 23rd. The courses will need to be completed by August 31st. If you do not successfully complete these courses online this summer, you will receive an NC grade and you will be required to take and pass the in-class courses in the fall term.
You can find additional information about these courses and how to register for the courses on the fact sheets.
