Peer Mentor Program
The application for the Engineering Peer Mentor Program for 2012-13 is now available! Selected peer mentors will be required to serve for six months (Fall and Winter terms, or Spring and Summer Terms). Students serving as peer mentors will be assigned their six-month term based on when they will be on campus for classes during the 2012-12 academic year.
The College of Engineering Peer Mentor Program is designed to help incoming and current engineering students through a unique peer advising opportunity, offering support, information, and guidance to promote academic success and personal growth.
What is a Peer Mentor?
Peer Mentors assist incoming and current engineering students throughout the year with their personal and academic needs. Peer mentors serve as leaders and role models in the College of Engineering and are provided to help all engineering students at Drexel University.

What are the requirements of being a Peer Mentor?
- Must have a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or higher
- Must have a Sophomore, Pre-Junior, Junior or Senior status
- Must complete an online application and interview
- Must be enrolled in the College of Engineering
- Must commit to the program for the entire academic year
What are the responsibilities of being a Peer Mentor?
1. Mentors must attend College of Engineering and Drexel student retention and recruitment events
Depending on co-op cycle:

Mentors are expected to attend at least one College of Engineering or Drexel sponsored student event per term

Mentors are expected to attend at least 1-2 hours of each New Student Orientation during summer term and one recruitment event per term

Mentors are expected to co-teach UNIV 101 classes

Mentors will be assigned a small group of freshman (5-10 students) to mentor
2. Maintain a GPA of at least a 2.75 throughout the Peer Mentor program
- Remain in good standing with the University, academically and judicially
3. Be available to answer questions and assist new and current students with problems and issues.
- Answer emails from students
- Create a bio to be placed on the College of Engineering website next to your picture
- Be creative in helping new students feel more comfortable in the College of Engineering
4. Attend mandatory Peer Mentor training and meetings throughout the academic year.
