Drexel Engineering Dean's Distinguished Lecture Series
Wednesday, February 13, 2013
11:00 AM-12:30 PM
Drexel Engineering will be kicking-off the first event of the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series with Dr. Cameron Abrams, professor of chemical and biological engineering. Dr. Abrams will discuss the multi-front fight against AIDS and how the development of a new microbicide can play an important role in interrupting the transmission of HIV. Dr. Abrams will also describe how the ideal microbicide will selectively and irreversibly destroy a live infectious virus while leaving human cells unaffected and will be inexpensive and simple to use. Dr. Abrams is an expert in large-scale molecular simulation in the understanding and design of biological molecules and materials. Refreshments will be served.
