Drexel's College of Engineering celebrates National Engineers Week annually with activities scheduled through the week. This nationally recognized celebration raises public awareness of engineers' indispensible contributions to all aspects of life. Some of our key events through the week include:

Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day

Drexel’s Bossone Research Enterprise Center will be home to more than 100 high school students and Junior Girl Scouts that will participate in interactive engineering lessons and hands-on demonstrations integrating the arts and engineering. Read more on the event details.


Garrett Morgan Career Fair

Drexel’s Behrakis Grand Hall will serve as the venue for up to 200 minority high school and college students as well as recent college graduates who will be afforded networking and interviewing opportunities with some of our area's top transportation focused consultant firms and authorities. College of Engineering Alumni Association Night at Men's Basketball

Kick off Engineers Week with the College of Engineering Alumni Association as the Drexel Dragons take on Hofstra University in the Daskalakis Athletic Center. Guests will enjoy hoagies, snacks, beer and soft drinks throughout the game in the Hazem Maragah Hospitality Suite. Read more on the event details.


Engineering Career Fair

Drexel’s College of Engineering and the Steinbright Career Development Center will host a career fair with more than 90 companies in the Drexel Recreation Center to present students and Drexel engineering alumni with career opportunities. Read more on the event details.


Student Events

In the spirit of Engineers Week, Drexel Engineering students will host a series of events during the week that includes competitions of the greatest minds in the College, a showcase of the student organizations and even a chance to participate in an Egg Drop Competition. Alumni Connections Program

Successful engineering alumni, ranging from young to seasoned, will participate in a panel discussion in the Bossone Atrium. Panelists will provide students and alumni with free career advice, tips on how to excel in the field and ways to transition to the next level in your career. Panelists will also provide insight on which career is for you. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session after the panel discussion. Following the discussion, students and alumni will have the opportunity to network with the panelists at a reception in the Bossone Atrium. Read more on the event details.


Systems Thinking: The Critical Skill for Effective Leaders and Managers

Attend this FREE webinar hosted by Drexel’s Engineering Management Program to learn how you can become a leader by developing systems thinking skills. MegaBad Movie Night

Join the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University for a special Engineers Week edition of Mega-Bad Movie Night. Watch an “awesomely awful” movie - The Core - right in Drexel’s Mitchell Auditorium. The Academy's experts and a Drexel engineer will be onstage to comment on the movie’s many scientific absurdities—think Mystery Science Theater 3000! Engineering Leader of the Year Dinner and Award Ceremony

As the capstone event for the week, the College of Engineering will honor 2013 Engineering Leader of the Year, Dr. Linda Abriola, dean of engineering at Tufts University and a Drexel alumna of civil engineering. Abriola will be honored for her outstanding leadership in Environmental Engineering, her commitment to the National Academy of Engineering and her contributions to engineering in an effort to improve today’s societal problems at the Rittenhouse Hotel in a dinner and ceremony.
