Assistant professor in chemical and biological engineering
The department of chemical and biological engineering invites applications and nominations for two tenured/tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor to begin September 2013. A Ph.D. in chemical engineering or a closely related field, as well as a potential for developing strong independent research program, and a commitment to mentor undergraduate and graduate students effectively is required. Assistant Professor tenure-track computer engineering positions (all ranks) in electrical and computer engineering
The electrical and computer engineering department is seeking outstanding candidates at any rank in all area of computer engineering for tenure-track positions. Areas of special emphasis include high-performance computing, bio-informatics, computer and network security, embedded systems and multimedia. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or computer science with outstanding academic credentials that clearly demonstrate their ability to conduct independent and successful research in their areas of expertise and develop a graduate research program leading to peer-reviewed publications and external funding. Candidates must have excellent communication skills with a commitment to engage in high-quality undergraduate and graduate education in areas of computer engineering. Tenure-track faculty (all ranks) in mechanical engineering and mechanics
The mechanical engineering and mechanics department is seeking to fill multiple tenure-track faculty positions starting fall of 2013. Priority will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: 1) Computational solid mechanics: Specific areas include, but are not limited to, emerging computational methods with emphasis on sub-continuum scale simulations and high performance computing for multiscale mechanics of novel materials. 2) Sensing and instrumentation: Specific areas include, but are not limited to, biosensors, bio-instrumentation, cell/tissue-on-chips, bioreactors, high-throughput single cell analysis, medical diagnostics, and implantable devices. 3) Advanced Manufacturing and Design: Specific areas include, but are not limited to, scalable micro/nano-manufacturing, sustainable design and manufacturing processes, engineering systems design, and modern design methodologies. Candidates should have an excellent academic record and be committed to education, research and service. Creative and adaptable candidates with a high potential for both teaching and research are being sought. Candidates for the rank of assistant professor should have received or expect to receive their Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, or a related discipline, prior to August 2013. Assistant Professor tenured/Tenure-track faculty position in materials science and engineering
The department of materials science & engineering is seeking applications with a demonstrated record of excellence in materials science and materials engineering for a tenure track faculty position. Of particular interest are candidates with a demonstrated record of excellence in original research in either of the following areas: 1) soft and hybrid material design, synthesis, assembly and function or 2) electrochemistry.  A Ph.D. in materials science and engineering or a closely related field is preferred. The ideal applicant should also possess research interests in an emerging research area such as advanced energy technologies, biomedical materials and devices, or environmental sustainability and be able to contribute to building interdisciplinary, integrated research program focused in their area of expertise.
