Dr. Ani Hsieh Has Been Appointed Director of the Robotics Program for the College of Engineering

May 9, 2011

May 9, 2011 Drexel Engineering is pleased to announce that Dr. Ani Hsieh, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics, has been appointed Director of the Robotics Program for the College of Engineering.

Presently, Drexel Engineering has a number of faculty and students in many departments across the College who are working on robots, robotics, intelligent electromechanics, and other areas that could fall within the Robotics Program.  At our peer institutions, all of these projects are put under an umbrella of a “program,” which, true the meaning of synergy, creates a whole that is greater than the sum of the parts.

Dr. Hsieh’s first task will be to identify all of the people involved in robotics and the projects that they are working on.  From this group, she will form a steering committee that will shape the future of robotics at Drexel.

Dr. Hsieh received her education at Swarthmore and Penn and has done extensive work on “swarming robots.”

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Hsieh to her new role in the College of Engineering.
