Nanomaterials Science Article and Photo Publised in Leading Science Journal

Dr. Vadym Mochalin, Research Assistant Professor in nanomaterials group had his molecular model-based artwork “Variety of carbon nanostructures found in carbide-derived carbons” published on the cover of Advanced Functional Materials (Volume 21, Issue 5, March 8, 2011). Carbide-derived carbon (CDC) are obtained by selective removal of metal or metalloid atoms from carbides such as SiC.
The cover image visualizes the variety of carbon nanostructures and is based on a recent feature article in Advanced Functional Materials journal entitled “Carbide-Derived Carbons - From Porous Networks to Nanotubes and Graphene, Advanced Functional Materials.” The article was written by Drexel’s nanomaterials group consisting of Volker Presser, Min Heon, and Yury Gogotsi.
