In the 2024 Shanghai rankings of global academic programs, Drexel Materials placed 41 globally, making it the 15th highest U.S. materials program on the list.
As one of the most influential global ranking systems for universities, the Shanghai rankings include 1,900 universities from 5,000 evaluated worldwide. Program performance is measured by a variety of indicators including international collaborations, international academic awards, and research output, quality, and influence.
This announcement comes on the heels of U.S. News and World Report ranking Drexel #61 for nanoscience and nanotechnology in their 2025-26 Best Global University Rankings, making it the 6th highest program from the U.S.
