Dr. Fei Lu, Assistant Professor and newest faculty member in Drexel's Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, and Dr. Hua Zhang have received the Prize Letter Award for 2018 in the journal IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics. IEEE, or the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, is the premier professional association for electrical engineering and related disciplines.
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics is the top scholarly journal in the field of Power Electronics. Lu and Zhang's paper, "A Two-Plate Capacitive Wireless Power Transfer System for Electric Vehicle Charging Applications," was selected from among 935 papers published in the journal in 2018. The paper, co-authored by Dr. Chris Mi of San Diego State University, was originally published in the February 2018 issue (vol. 33, no. 2).
This prestigious recognition is all the more noteworthy given that Drs. Lu and Zhang have also won the best paper award in this journal in 2015 and 2016.
