Drexel's IEEE-HKN Wins Outstanding Chapter Award

The IEEE-HKN Board of Governors recently awarded Drexel's chapter of the prestigious honors society the 2016-17 Outstanding Chapter Award. The award recognizes a chapter's administrative and programmatic activities. Drexel's chapter, Beta Alpha, was commended for its professional development, scholarship, and public service activities.

Dr. Tim Kurzweg, Professor in ECE, has been the faculty advisor for Drexel's IEEE-HKN chapter for some time, and recently served as 2016 President of HKN.

IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is the premier professional organization for electrical and computer engineers. HKN (Eta Kappa Nu) is the honors society housed within IEEE as is tasked with fostering the highest levels of academic and professional excellence within the fields that comprise IEEE.

The chapter award will be formally presented at the annual conference of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Heads Association (ECEDA) in Monterey, CA on March 19.

Congratulations to our IEEE-HKN chapter on this great award!
