Dr. Soroush was awarded an NSF grant for his research titled, “GOALI: Collaborative Research: On-Demand
Continuous-Flow Production of High Performance Acrylic Resins: from Electronic-Level Modeling to Modular
Process Intensification.” Multi-scale modeling and experimental studies are carried out to develop, optimize,
and validate a novel continuous-flow modular design that intensifies polymer production processes and
produce high-performance polymers on demand. In this project, Dr. Soroush collaborates with Dr. Andrew
M. Rappe (UPenn) and Dr. Michael C. Grady (Axalta).
Drexel University will lead this collaborative project. The total NSF grant is $480,000; Drexel will receive
$240,000 and UPenn $240,000 during the period of September 1, 2018 – August 31, 2021. In addition,
Axalta will provide Drexel with an in-kind support of $350,000.
