Dr. Youngmoo Kim's Magnetic Resonator Piano Goes to Hollywood

Dr. Youngmoo Kim, Director of the Expressive and Creative Interaction Technologies (ExCITe) Center and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Drexel, has made it to Hollywood through his Magnetic Resistor Piano. Dr. Kim’s Magnetic Resistor Piano is an instrument created in Drexel’s Music Entertainment Lab that uses electromagnets to augment the sounds of a piano. Composer Jon Brion spotted the Magnetic Resistor Piano in a series of online videos and asked to debut it in the soundtrack to Disney’s Christopher Robin.
