Assistant Teaching Professor Thomas Chmielewski has been promoted to Teaching Professor, effective September 1, 2018.
Professor Chmielewski joined the ECE Department as an Adjunct Professor in July 2003, and was appointed Assistant Teaching Professor in 2011; he also taught ECE courses for the Drexel Evening College for many years, starting in 1980.
He received in B.S. (1977), M.S. (1980), and Ph.D. (1995) from Drexel University.
Over his career he has held a wide variety of positions in industry, including United States Robots Inc., Advanced Mechanization Inc., GE Advanced Technology Laboratories, Control Concepts Inc., SENSAR Inc., Sarnoff Corp., F&H Applied Science Associates Inc., and others. He also has an extensive industry consulting track record.
Professor Chmielewski’s wide technical expertise encompasses modeling and simulation of electro-mechanical systems, design and analysis using control theory, digital signal processing techniques, robot design and programming, and many others.
He has taught, and continues to teach, a broad array of courses within the systems area. He has maintained a consistent track record of teaching excellence and dedication to the betterment of our students.
