Dr. Christopher Peters Interviewed by Philadelphia Inquirer Regarding Southwest Engine Debris

Dr. Christopher Peters of Drexel's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering was recently interviewed by The Philadelphia Inquirer regarding the engine explosion on a Southwest Airlines flight on April 17, 2018.

In an article about debris detection, Dr. Peters explained how the frequency of air traffic radar--how air traffic controllers monitor aircraft location while airborne--can also be used to detect debris as tiny as one inch in width. Finding the debris is essential in assessing the issues that caused the engine to fail.

The article can be viewed on the Inquirer's website.
