Haley Dervinis Wins Provost Award for Innovation in Advising

Haley DervinisHaley Dervinis, Associate Director of Undergraduate Advising for Drexel University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has won the 2018 Provost's Award for Innovation in Advising. The award recognizes Ms. Dervinis' substantial efforts in creating and deploying the online A4E ("Advising for Engineers") portal, an academic resource point accessible by all College of Engineering students via their Blackboard Learn accounts. A4E is a centralized hub where students can learn about their curricular requirements, relevant policies, news and upcoming academic deadlines, processes like applying for graduation or to an accelerated degree program, and more.

This is Ms. Dervinis' second Provost's Award for Innovation in Advising; she also won it in 2016 while an advisor in the College of Computing and Informatics. This is also the ECE Department's second Provost's Award: former ECE academic advisor Jeffrey Birou won the Excellence in Advising Award in 2016.

Ms. Dervinis shares the award with Arielle Norment from Drexel's School of Education, for similar work done in creating online communities for Drexel students within Blackboard Learn. They will be honored at a Provost's recognition dinner on May 23, 2018.

Congratulations to Haley on being recognized for her great work!
