Gogotsi receives IUPAC Distinguished Award in Novel Materials and their Synthesis

Gogosti receiving the NMS awardThe International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) presented Distinguished University and Trustee Chair Professor Yury Gogotsi the Distinguished Award in Novel Materials and their Synthesis at the 12 IUPAC International Conference on Novel Materials and their Synthesis (NMS-XII) held from October 14-19, 2016 in Changsha, China.

Gogotsi received the award "For outstanding contributions to the field of carbide derived carbons, carbon onions and nanodiamonds for capacitive energy storage and biomedical applications.”

IUPAC is the world authority on chemical nomenclature and terminology, including the naming of new elements in the periodic table; on standardized methods for measurement; and on atomic weights, and many other critically-evaluated data.
