Professor Timothy Kurzweg appointed as 2016 IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu President-Elect

Timothy KurzwegDr. Timothy Kurzweg was elected IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu (IEEE-HKN) President-Elect for 2016. He will be President of IEEE-HKN in 2017, and Past-President in 2018. In all these positions, Dr. Kurzweg will be sitting on the IEEE-HKN Board of Governors, and in 2017, will be a voting member of IEEE Educational Activities Board.

IEEE-HKN, the honor society of IEEE, was founded in 1904 and is dedicated to encouraging and recognizing individual excellence in education and meritorious work, in professional practice, and in any of the areas within the IEEE-designated fields of interest.​ IEEE-HKN members consist of students, alumni, and other professionals who have demonstrated exceptional academic and professional accomplishments. Student members are selected on the basis of scholastic standing, character, and leadership. Professional members are inducted by nomination of a current member, and by virtue of their contributions.

Dr. Bruce Eisenstein, Vice Dean of College of Engineering and Arthur J. Rowland Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering was President of HKN in 2008-2009, when it merged and become the honor society of IEEE.
