Drexel University among Top Engineering Universities Awarded IEEE Scholarships

According to a recent report by the IEEE Foundation, Drexel University had the second largest number of IEEE Power & Energy Society scholars in 2015 at seven scholarships, after the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign who claimed eight. Last year Drexel’s College of Engineering tied with Washington State and prior to that, the College of Engineering consistently had the largest number of scholars.

The College of Engineering also tops the chart with 46 scholars in the last five years, with Worcester Polytechnic Institute following in second place at 33 scholars.

In addition, the College of Engineering also had the first John Estey Scholar award, given in 2011 to then BS/MS student Nick Coleman, who now is now pursuing his Ph.D. with Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor, Karen Miu, Ph.D.
