A cursory glance at any newspaper during the last month would lead some to believe that a conflict with North Korea is imminent. As provocations from the Pyongyang grow louder, one can’t help but wonder what life is like people in the Republic of Korean living below the 38th parallel.
Paul Oh, professor of mechanical engineering and mechanics knows first-hand. He’s currently living in Seoul, Korea on a two-week teaching assignment. Oh was interviewed by the Philadelphia Inquirer on April 14th and offered his opinion on life in Seoul.
"It's completely normal here," Oh said. "If I didn't pick up a newspaper or turn on the TV, I wouldn't have known anything about the perception that there's danger. . . . People are generally in a very good mood.”
