Drexel Students Receive American Institute of Chemical Engineers Delaware Valley Awards

Bottom Left: Seniors Anirban Ghosh and Jia Xu.A group of Drexel’s Chemical and Biological Engineering students received the Delaware Valley Section (DVS) American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChe) section awards during a banquet at the University of Pennsylvania on April 10, 2013. This honor is given to outstanding senior, junior and sophomore students from each of five area universities, including Drexel University, the University of Pennsylvania, Rowan University, Widener University and Villanova University, based on GPA with additional consideration for professional activities and involvement in AIChE. Drexel Engineering award recipients are:

Jia Xu - Outstanding Senior

Allison Kirkpatrick - Outstanding Junior

Rishon Benjamin - Outstanding Sophomore (Pre-Junior)

Anjli Patel - Other Sophomore Award

A Drexel Engineering senior design student team represented by Colton Bower, Daniel Davis, Anirban Ghosh and Jahnavi Deshmukh was also presented a Zeisberg Award for Outstanding Laboratory. They received the award for their project, "Non-Thermal Recovery of Metals from Electronic Waste." This award is designated to the best senior design report among all participating schools.
