The College of Engineering recently announced award recipients for the College’s annual fellowship awards. Select students of The Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering Department were awarded the following: The Kling Lindquist Partnership Engineering Fellowship, The George Hill, Jr. Endowed Fellowship Fund, and The Koerner Family Award.
The Kling Lindquist Partnership Engineering Fellowship is used to provide financial assistance to hard-working full or part time graduate students who demonstrate financial need and academic excellence. Candidates must be graduates enrolled in the Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering Department (CAEE) or the Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics Department (MEM) and must be well-rounded students who demonstrate leadership qualities and/or involvement in school or community activities. This year’s CAEE recipients are: Bita Alizadehtazi (ENVE), Xiwang Li (CIVE), Qiang Mao (CIVE), Kimberlee Marcellus (CIVE) and Adam Regnier (CIVE).
The George Hill, Jr. Endowed Fellowship Fund is used to provide a stipend and/or tuition assistance to graduate students who will be partially supported by a research or teaching assistantship in the College of Engineering. Recipients have demonstrated excellence in their undergraduate and graduate careers and the potential to achieve academic excellence at the Ph.D. level. The CAEE recipient of this award is Suk Joon Na (CIVE).
The Koerner Family Award has been reintroduced to the College of Engineering. Each applicable department will select one or more recipients at the discretion of the respective Department Head while fulfilling specific criteria; one if these requirements is that recipients will be selected and advised by members of the non-tenured faculty of each department. The CAEE recipient of this award is Adams Rackes (CIVE) and he is advised by Dr. Michael Waring.
