The article touts the potential supercapacitors have to transform public transportation and to increase energy efficiency.  Specifically, the current use of supercapacitors in trams in Germany highlights the effectiveness which supercapacitors have to make a difference in the field. 

Gogotsi is quoted as saying that a hybrid supercapacitor/traditional battery might be the key to the perfect solution for energy storage.  He also emphasizes that supercapacitors do not need to be expensive because the materials used are wildly available and are individually inexpensive.
