Drexel University’s Dr. Kapil Dandekar, associate dean for research and associate professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), is serving as the head of the organizing committee for the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) EPICS (Engineering Projects in Community Service) Around the Globe Virtual Conference- a one day event to be held virtually on October 27, 2012 beginning at 8:45 a.m. This conference will showcase the global reach of the EPICS in IEEE program and also provide a unique opportunity to see a new virtual platform in motion.
The IEEE EPICS Around the Globe Virtual Conference will feature knowledgeable speakers who are the cornerstones of the program from Purdue University and IEEE alongside IEEE student branches and who have successfully developed and executed an EPICS project, including keynote speaker Dr. Moshe Kam, Robert Quinn professor and department head of Drexel’s ECE. The conference will feature two tracks to allow registrants to participate in sessions based on their own experience and interest level (beginner and advanced), a trade show floor with booths from conference sponsors, IEEE entities, student branches who have completed EPICS in IEEE projects and meeting room space for opportunities to converse with fellow attendees. Attendees can receive a certificate of attendance by submitting a request to eab-ceuadmin@ieee.org. Professional Development hours are also available with a nominal fee and can be requested on the registration page.
