Drexel University hosted a National Science Foundation (NSF) Computer & Information Science & Engineering (CISE) Career Workshop on March 30, 2012 at the Papadakis Integrated Sciences Building. Organized by Dr. Paul Oh, department head of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics and Dr. Pramod Abichandani, assistant teaching professor of Drexel Engineering, about 100 professors from across the United States and nine NSF Program Directors met for a one-day proposal-writing workshop, intended to enable future CISE proposal submitters to learn how to prepare competitive career proposals.
The purpose of the workshop was to provide young faculty members skills in career proposal writing, panel review experience and opportunities to interact with NSF program directors and recent NSF awardees. The major components of the workshop included talks on career proposal writing, experience sharing, mock panels and proposal clinic.
The workshop was free and open to participants from national universities. For more information about the workshop, visit the website. For information on other upcoming NSF workshops, visit the official website.
