Drexel Opens Drexel-SARI Center in China

In an unveiling ceremony on June 7, Drexel University embarked on a new partnership with Shanghai Advanced Research Institute (SARI) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences to open the Drexel-SARI Center in Shanghai China. The purpose of the Drexel SARI Center is to forge new educational and research partnerships between Drexel University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a top academic and research center specializing in natural science, technological science and innovation.

Wei Sun, PhD, Albert Soffa Chair Professor of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Drexel will be among the first researchers to partner with the Chinese Academy of Sciences at the new Drexel-SARI Center. His research in conjunction with scientists at SARI will examine the application of 3D cell assembly technology to generate in vitro cellular cancer models used for drug screening testing.
