Team Cautela Engineering, representing the Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering department of Drexel University, placed as finalists in the Electrical and Mechanical submissions in the 2012 Charles Pankow Foundation Annual Architectural Engineering Student Design Competition. The submissions were a part of a multidisciplinary building design project which spanned between the CAEE Department, the Electrical Engineering Department and the Architecture Department. All students collaborated closely together to create an integrated building design of a 66,000 SF federal office building located in Omaha, Neb. The project focused on security, sustainability and high performance design. A photo of the design is featured with the story.
Of three national finalists in the Electrical Category (University of Nebraska, Drexel University and Kansas State University), Drexel's team including Bilal Baqai, Sara Beg, Dave Fratamico, Adrian Lu, Emily McNally, Dylan Short and Vaibhav Paritosh placed first. Paritosh, electrical engineering student, was the primary author/designer of the submission.
Of the three national finalists in the Mechanical Category (University of Nebraska, Drexel University, and Kansas State University), the Drexel team placed second. Short and Lu were the primary designers/authors of the submission.
