College of Engineering Receives ASEE Veteran's Award

American FlagThe College of Engineering was among ten universities nationwide to be honored by the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) with an award for excellence in educating our nation’s veterans.

Universities chosen to receive the inaugural ASEE Engineering Excellence for Veterans Award had to meet the following criteria:

  • Be among the U.S. News and World Report’s top 200 major national universities and colleges
  • Be in Military Times Top 60 “Best for Vets”
  • Selected as a “Military-Friendly School” by GI Jobs Magazine
  • Among the Top 100 “Best for Vets in Engineering” school in U.S. News and World Report rankings

This annual award is administered by The Veterans Committee at the ASEE, founded in the past year and guided by the ASEE Military and Veterans Division. Its mission is to “achieve excellence in serving Veterans who aspire to or who are within the Engineering Technician, Engineering Technology and Engineering (ETETE) education and careers.” The Committee states that this will be accomplished by providing pathways for education based on research-informed solutions and best practices shared by collaborative partners.
