Transfer Instructions
Admission and Financial Aid Deadlines
The application deadlines for transfer applicants vary depending on the term in which you wish to enroll.
Note: The Westphal College of Media Arts & Design,
Chemistry, Physics, Radiologic Technology, Invasive Cardiovascular
Technology, Software Engineering (ISE program code only), and Nursing
Co-op programs only admit transfer students in the fall. The College
of Information Science and Technology admits transfer students in the
fall and winter terms. Students cannot transfer into the
full-time Architecture program, or programs for Still-Deciding Students®.
Nursing ACE and Radiologic Technology applications received after
the deadline will be reviewed on a continuous basis.

Transfer Checklist
Drexel takes into consideration a number of criteria when determining admission,
including your college and/or high school performance in relation
to your desired major, and essay.
Drexel assumes that you've completed coursework similar to Drexel's curriculum.
To be considered for admission as a transfer student, you should have
completed a minimum of 24 college credits. If you have fewer than 24
college credits, you will also need to submit your high school transcript
and SAT or ACT scores.
- Undergraduate Admission Application
Complete an application for Undergraduate Admission. We prefer that
you apply online to Drexel. We accept the following
online applications:

You may submit only one application.
To expedite the application process, please write your full name
(no nicknames, please) on all items submitted. Your Social Security Number
is also required to be considered for financial aid. If you need
to change your major or co-op selection after submitting your application,
please contact Admissions at enroll@drexel.edu or
1-800-2-DREXEL; international students may dial 1-215-895-2400.
- Application Fee, $75 (waived if you apply on campus or online)
- Essay
All applicants (except Nursing ACE and RN-BSN Degree Completion applicants)
must submit a 1- to
2-page essay online. We do not accept essays submitted on paper.
Westphal College of Media Arts & Design applicants:
Relate your essay topic to your interest in your intended major.
All other applicants: You may write about why you are interested in your choice of major or you may write on any subject you choose.
- Transcripts
Official transcripts must be sent directly from your college
to Drexel. You may print the Transcript
Request Form [PDF] and use it to request official transcripts from
your school counselor and/or registrar. The transcript should
include all courses in progress. You are required to submit transcripts
from each college attended. If you have completed fewer than
24 credits at the time of application, you must also submit an
official copy of your high school transcript.
International applicants should refer to International Instructions for additional requirements.
Nursing ACE, RN-BSN Degree Completion, and Radiologic Technology applicants who have coursework from an institution outside of the United States — except study abroad — must also review the International Instructions for additional requirements.
Note: Radiologic Technology program applicants are required to submit a high school transcript regardless of the number of completed college credits.
- Standardized Test Scores
If you have completed 24 or more college credits, you are not required
to submit standardized test scores. Otherwise, you must take either the SAT
or ACT and request that the results be forwarded to Undergraduate Admissions.
All students should use the following codes to send score reports to Drexel:
SAT 2194 or ACT 3556. For more information on the SAT, please visit CollegeBoard.
International applicants should refer to International Instructions for additional requirements.
Nursing ACE, Nursing BSN Co-op, and RN-BSN Degree Completion
applicants who
were born outside of the United States — regardless of citizenship,
native language, or location of degree-granting institutions — must
also review the International
Instructions for additional requirements.
- Portfolio (Fashion Design and Graphic Design
applicants only)
You are required to submit a sample of your creative work with a maximum of 12
images of drawings, paintings, photographs, or other visual materials or a website.
Briefly explain the context within which you created the work. All work submitted
becomes part of the application and will not be returned. Your portfolio must
be submitted online at HighSchoolPortfolios.com.
- Audition (Dance applicants only)
Dance applicants are required to audition. Visit the Westphal
College Dance website for more information.
- Additional Requirements
RN-BSN degree completion applicants are required to submit
a copy of their RN license. Applicants must have an unrestricted,
current, and active RN license with no limitations, riders, actions,
or covenants attached.
Invasive Cardiovascular Technology applicants are
required to submit a copy of their ARRT certification.
- International Students, Permanent Residents, and U.S. Citizens Born Abroad
Refer to International Instructions for additional requirements.
- Alumni-Trustee Endorsement Grant Program (Optional)
A $250 grant is awarded annually to enrolling undergraduates who have
been recommended by a Drexel alumnus/a or trustee. Print the Alumni-Trustee
Endorsement Grant Form [PDF], complete the top portion, and give
it to the person providing your endorsement. The form must be postmarked
by April 1 for fall term entry, by November
15 for winter term entry, or by February 15 for spring term entry.
Note: Nursing ACE, RN-BSN Degree Completion, Radiologic
Technology, and Invasive Cardiovascular Technology applicants are not
eligible for the Alumni-Trustee Endorsement Grant.

Visit Campus and Expedite the Admission
Process
Schedule a campus visit and meet with an admission counselor by calling
1-800-2-DREXEL. If you submit a completed application during your
visit, we will waive the application fee. To receive an instant admission
decision, be sure to bring sealed, certified transcripts from all previously
attended colleges and universities.

Transferring Credits from Another College
or University
Drexel may grant you credit for courses completed at a college or university
that is either regionally accredited or a recognized candidate for accreditation
according to the Association of Colleges and Schools/Commission on Higher
Education.
To receive transfer credit for courses completed at another university,
the courses must be substantially equivalent to courses offered in the desired
curriculum at Drexel and you must have completed the courses with a grade
of C (C=2.0) or better.
The number of credits you can transfer will be determined by your department
once you've been accepted. To maximize transfer credits, students who currently attend the following schools should complete the appropriate plan of study indicated at www.collegetransfer.net.

Scholarships
Note: Nursing ACE, RN-BSN Degree Completion, Radiologic
Technology, and Invasive Cardiovascular Technology applicants are not eligible
for Drexel scholarships and grants due to the unique format of the programs' curricula.
In order to recognize outstanding academic achievement, transfer applications
are automatically considered for Transfer Scholarships, which are offered
to accepted and qualified students transferring to Drexel from two- and four-year
colleges. Transfer Scholarships are awarded up to $16,000 and are renewable
on a yearly basis.
To be considered for a Transfer Scholarship, you must:
- have approximately a 3.2 cumulative GPA from all previously attended institutions
- be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate in a day, on-campus program
Additional Drexel non-need-based financial grants include:
- Alumni-Trustee Endorsement Grant — A $250
grant is awarded annually to enrolling undergraduates who have been
recommended by a Drexel alumnus/a or trustee. Print the Alumni-Trustee
Endorsement Grant Form [PDF], complete the top portion, and give
it to the person providing your endorsement. The form must be postmarked
by April 1 for fall term entry, by November
15 for winter term entry, or by February 15 for spring term entry.
- Drexel Legacy Scholarship —
A $3,000 annual award to sons and daughters of Drexel or MCP Hahnemann
alumni/ae.
- Dragon Family Scholarship — A $3,000 award offered to each
child from the same family enrolled full-time simultaneously.
