Transfer Checklist

Drexel takes into consideration a number of criteria when determining admission, including your college and/or high school performance in relation to your desired major, and essay.

Drexel assumes that you've completed coursework similar to Drexel's curriculum. To be considered for admission as a transfer student, you should have completed a minimum of 24 college credits. If you have fewer than 24 college credits, you will also need to submit your high school transcript and SAT or ACT scores.

  1. Undergraduate Admission Application
Complete an application for Undergraduate Admission. We prefer that you apply online to Drexel. We accept the following online applications:
       • Drexel's Online Application
       • Drexel's VIP Application
       • The Common Application
       • Universal College Application

If you do not wish to apply online, you may download and print either of the following:
       • Drexel's Undergraduate Full-Time Admission Application [PDF]
       • The Common Application

You may submit only one application. To expedite the application process, please write your full name (no nicknames, please) on all items submitted. Your Social Security Number is also required to be considered for financial aid. If you need to change your major or co-op selection after submitting your application, please contact Admissions at enroll@drexel.edu or 1-800-2-DREXEL; international students may dial 1-215-895-2400.

  2. Application Fee, $75 (waived if you apply on campus or online)

  3. Essay
All applicants (except Nursing ACE and RN-BSN Degree Completion applicants) must submit a 1- to 2-page essay online. We do not accept essays submitted on paper.

Westphal College of Media Arts & Design applicants: Relate your essay topic to your interest in your intended major.

All other applicants: You may write about why you are interested in your choice of major or you may write on any subject you choose.

  4. Transcripts
Official transcripts must be sent directly from your college to Drexel. You may print the Transcript Request Form [PDF] and use it to request official transcripts from your school counselor and/or registrar. The transcript should include all courses in progress. You are required to submit transcripts from each college attended. If you have completed fewer than 24 credits at the time of application, you must also submit an official copy of your high school transcript.
International applicants should refer to International Instructions for additional requirements.
Nursing ACE, RN-BSN Degree Completion, and Radiologic Technology applicants who have coursework from an institution outside of the United States — except study abroad — must also review the International Instructions for additional requirements.
Note: Radiologic Technology program applicants are required to submit a high school transcript regardless of the number of completed college credits.

  5. Standardized Test Scores
If you have completed 24 or more college credits, you are not required to submit standardized test scores. Otherwise, you must take either the SAT or ACT and request that the results be forwarded to Undergraduate Admissions. All students should use the following codes to send score reports to Drexel: SAT 2194 or ACT 3556. For more information on the SAT, please visit CollegeBoard.
International applicants should refer to International Instructions for additional requirements.
Nursing ACE, Nursing BSN Co-op, and RN-BSN Degree Completion applicants who were born outside of the United States — regardless of citizenship, native language, or location of degree-granting institutions — must also review the International Instructions for additional requirements.

  6. Portfolio (Fashion Design and Graphic Design applicants only)
You are required to submit a sample of your creative work with a maximum of 12 images of drawings, paintings, photographs, or other visual materials or a website. Briefly explain the context within which you created the work. All work submitted becomes part of the application and will not be returned. Your portfolio must be submitted online at HighSchoolPortfolios.com.

  7. Audition (Dance applicants only)
Dance applicants are required to audition. Visit the Westphal College Dance website for more information.
