Do I need to take the ACTFL OPI test?
If you are an international student who is interested in any level of teaching responsibility, you must legally qualify to become a teaching assistant.
What is the OPI test?
The ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) is a 20-30 minute, face-to-face interview between the ITA and a trained interviewer. The interview is interactive and continuously adapts to the ITA's abilities, interests and experiences.
How do I register for the OPI test?
You can call the English Language Center (ELC) at 215-895-2022 to make an appointment. You can also email the ITA Program Coordinator, Anne Politz, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do I get the results?
You will receive your results within one week after taking the test. The ITA Program Coordinator will send you an email to let you know your score and will fax your score information to your department.
