Getting Started

Make sure you take the following steps to be ready to begin the International Gateway Program:

  • Pick Up Your Computer and Email Accounts
As a Drexel student, you will gain access to computer accounts, such as email and the DrexelOne portal. You must check your Drexel email account regularly for important updates regarding your eBill and your classes. Visit the Drexel Computer Accounts page for instructions on picking up your accounts.
  • Apply for Your I-20 or DS-2019
You will receive the I-20/DS-2019 Application form via email shortly after you confirm your admission to Gateway.
  • Make Your Housing Selection
A limited number of shared rooms in the residence halls are available for International Gateway students. Gateway students will live in the same residence hall as University students and will be paired with another student of the same sex. Students who choose to apply for housing in the residence halls are required to select a dining plan. Visit the Dining & Retail page for information about dining plans.
Off-campus housing options can be found on the ELC Housing page and on the Drexel Off-Campus Housing page.
  • Submit Your Final Transcript
You are required to submit final high school transcripts, as well as transcripts from any colleges or universities you have attended. All transcripts must be received directly from your educational institution. Please refer to our Transcript Requirements for International First-Year Applicants for additional information.
  • Review Billing Information and Set Up Your Billing Account
Review information about how Drexel bills students, the different payment options available (wire transfers, payment plans, credit card, etc.), and the different components to your billing account (authorized users, direct deposit, text notifications etc.). View more information on the Drexel Central eBill website. Your first billing statement will be made available after your arrival on campus.
  • Submit Your Immunization Records
Immunizations are required for all students. Please read the Immunization Requirements for International Students. You must also complete the Immunization Record Form.
  • Submit Your Dragon ID Card Photo
You can upload a photo for your DragonCard via DrexelOne. Visit the DragonCard website for more information and the Online Photo Submission page for instructions. You will receive your DragonCard when you move into the residence halls or during orientation if you do not have on-campus housing.
  • Plan Your Arrival to Philadelphia
We have provided information on the Travel and Arrival Information page to help you plan your arrival in Philadelphia.
  • Notify Disability Resources of Any Request for Accommodations
If you have any physical or learning disabilities, notify Disability Resources. Drexel University is committed to providing equal access to its programs and services to qualified students. Visit the Disability Resources website for more information.
