IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR GATEWAY STUDENTS
Curriculum
In your first term, you will study in English Language Center classes to prepare for academic courses and to improve your test scores. In the next terms, you will combine courses in language, test preparation, math, science and communications to prepare for fulltime study at Drexel University. Each term, an advisor will meet with you to discuss the program details. This will help you understand how to meet all the requirements for matriculating into Drexel University for Fall 2013.

Gateway Orientation
Please plan to arive by September 20 so that you can attend the International Gateway and ELC orientations beginning September 21.
At the orientation you will
- meet Gateway students and advisors
- learn about Gateway and ELC programs, activities and requirements
- take writing, listening and speaking tests to determine your levels for your Fall ELC classes
- tour the Drexel campus and the city of Philadelphia
- attend an immunization clinic to complete any immunizations you still need (see below)
Housing
Drexel ELC can suggest Housing Options for International Gateway students.
Limited Space is available in Drexel University Residence Halls for the 2012-2013 academic year.
- To apply, read the information and follow the instructions on the ELC Housing page.
- The application deadline is July 31.
- If you have confirmed housing in a Drexel residence hall, you must pay the housing fee directly to your student account. Drexel ELC does not invoice or accept payments for housing.
Paying Your Tuition and Fees
Estimated costs for Fall 2012
- Tuition - $4,410 (-$300 matriculation fee = $4,110)
- Fees - $335 (health insurance, immunization, and university fees)
- Activities fee - TBD
- Other estimated living expenses - $,4000 ((housing, food, books, and personal expenses)
- You will be billed on a term by term basis for tuition and fees.
- Invoices and Payment Instructions will be emailed to you separately.
- Payments for tuition and fees are due in full by Friday, September 28, 2012.
- TOEFL and IELTS testing fees are paid separately when you register for the tests.
- If you have confirmed housing in a Drexel residence hall, you must pay the housing fee directly to your student account. Drexel ELC does not invoice or accept payments for housing.
Immunizations
Immunizations are required for all International Gateway students.
