Adding and Dropping Courses

Students may adjust their schedules until the end of the course add/drop period of each quarter at the University. Starting in fall 2016, the course add/drop period will last until the end of Week 1 of the quarter. Information about this recent policy change can be found on our Course Add/Drop Announcement page.

Making adjustments to a schedule by either adding or dropping courses may have financial aid and billing implications. Students should be familiar with Financial Aid Terms and Conditions and the Billing Refund Policies before making schedule adjustments.

Adding Courses

As soon as a continuing student's registration time ticket opens, they are able to add classes through the end of the first week of classes of each quarter.

Instructions for Adding Courses

  • Log in to DrexelOne.
  • Select the "Academics" Tab.
  • Choose the "Add/Drop Classes" link in the "Registration" channel.
  • Select "Term of Registration."
  • Type in Course Registration (CRN) numbers in CRN addition fields.
  • Press "Submit."

You should contact your advisor if you:

  • Encounter a course restriction/permission.
  • Have a course enrollment request beginning with week two of the quarter.
  • Are a freshman.
  • Are a new undergraduate transfer student.
  • Have recently been readmitted.

Dropping Courses

Dropping a course is different from withdrawing. Please review the Course Withdrawal Policy for more information.

Dropping a course removes the course from the student's academic record and it will not appear on future transcripts. Freshman and new first-term transfer students must meet with their academic advisors to drop courses during the first quarter. Undergraduate upperclass and graduate students may drop courses via DrexelOne without prior approval.

For accelerated courses running from weeks one through five of the regular quarter, the drop period is Week 1; for accelerated courses running from Weeks 6 through 10 of the regular quarter, the drop period is Week 6.

Instructions for Dropping Courses

You may drop your courses through your DrexelOne account.

  • Log in to DrexelOne.

  • Choose the "Add/Drop Classes" link in the "Registration" channel.
  • Select "Term of Registration."
  • In the course registration select "Web Drop" from the dropdown registration menu options.
  • Press "Submit."

If you cannot access your course registration through DrexelOne, contact your academic advisor.
