Drexel Urban Health Collaborative Core Groups

The Drexel Urban Health Collaborative has five Cores that carry out synergistic and interrelated functions.

Administrative Core

The Administrative Core provides administrative, programmatic and budgetary oversight to the Collaborative. It supports the UHC by managing the day-to-day operations and working with the other Cores on events, projects, and grants, including pilot awards.

Community Engagement Core

The Community Engagement Core acts as a resource to facilitate and strengthen engagement between the UHC and community partners. Our goal is to serve as a channel for UHC faculty, students, and staff to work collaboratively with communities to improve health and address local needs. We work in concert with other UHC cores and work groups, and the Community Health and Prevention Department at the Dornsife School of Public Health, to disseminate research results to the impacted communities, to help communities and community partners with their research needs, and to train both researchers and community partners in applied, community-engaged research.

It also provides GIS, data management, and statistical support for urban health projects, with a special focus on health in the Philadelphia area, and supports research on urban health locally and globally through in-person and online workshops and courses.
