Conference Travel Support Policy
DCAE Faculty Conference Travel Support Policy
We are currently accepting applications for the 2015-2016 academic year as of August 17, 2015 - May 06, 2016.
The DCAE is committed to advancing best practices in the teaching and learning process by helping our faculty share their teaching knowledge and expertise with fellow scholars while also providing opportunities for faculty to participate in activities that support their own professional development. With this in mind, the DCAE is proud to offer financial support to Drexel faculty members wishing to present at professional conferences that showcase best teaching and learning practices in higher education (this may include proposals to discipline-specific conferences that have targeted sections on issues clearly related to effective teaching and learning). A list of conferences we have supported in the past appears below, but applications are not limited to this list as there are a number of regional conferences that we will post on our website as we receive information. Conferences supported by the DCAE must be in North American based locations.
In order to qualify for consideration, interested faculty members must submit a completed DCAE Request for Funding Form at the time of the submission of their proposal. If there are co-presenters, each must submit separately. Please note that due to limited funds and to diversify topics proposed, we may need to restrict the total amount to co-presenters. This application form is separate from any materials requested by the conference organizers, and should be submitted via the DCAE website at the same time as the proposal submission to the conference. Once the proposal is accepted, the faculty member must notify the DCAE via e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) within two weeks in order to be eligible for support. Depending on the number of applications for funding within a given academic year, the DCAE will consider submissions on a case by case basis. Applicants must also include disclosure of any non-DCAE funds committed by a department, college or elsewhere. Please note that preference will be given to faculty members who have received a DCAE participation certificate within the previous two academic years(click here for more information on DCAE certificates).
As a part of receiving funding from the DCAE, the faculty member agrees to participate and share their work with others at the DCAE Showcase of Teaching on May 18, 2016.
For more information on this initiative please contact the DCAE via e-mail (email@example.com) or via telephone at 215-895-4973.
We look forward to working with you and supporting your endeavor.
